Dr. John Coleman

Doctor ColemanDr. John Coleman was born and raised near Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Davidson College on a full academic scholarship. After majoring in Chemistry and graduating magna cum laude, Dr. Coleman was fortunate to receive a Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship in Medicine, a full academic scholarship to attend Emory University School of Medicine. He was also honored with the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship, given for leadership and dedication to public service. Dr. Coleman graduated from medical school with honors, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Hewlett-Packard Medical Graduate Award.

Dr. Coleman’s training then continued in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He completed both an internship in general surgery and a residency in Otolaryngology/Head Neck Surgery. In addition to his patient care responsibilities, Dr. Coleman performed award-winning research, published numerous articles and book chapters and gave talks frequently on the national and local levels. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Coleman was awarded a competitive fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Davis. While continuing to practice general otolaryngology, Dr. Coleman worked with innovators in the fields of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery using state of the art instrumentation and the latest techniques. He became skilled in numerous procedures including endoscopic brow lifting, deep plane face lifting, rhinoplasty, laser surgery, cleft lip and palate repair and reconstruction of skin cancer defects.

While in California and now in Atlanta, Dr. Coleman travels abroad and donates his talents. Together with his wife Jennifer, an anesthetist, they have performed cleft lip and palate surgery in Lucena City, Philippines and Guayquil, Ecaudor for indigent children and young adults. Outside of medicine, John and Jennifer enjoy outdoor activities including travel, biking and golf.

 

Debra Wagner

Debra Wagner, RN has been our aesthetician and provider of clinical services in the Center for Facial Plastics since it’s opening. Debra brings a unique background to this role. She has over thirty-five years of patient care experience. She has worked as a nurse taking care of medical and surgical patients in the hospital, been active in the surgical arena with roles in preop, the operating room and the recovery room, and has been a supervisor at Atlanta Medical Hospital. Aesthetically, she is also well educated. Debra has advanced laser certification and is well versed in multiple skin care lines including Obagi, Cosmedix, Image and Sesderma. She is an expert at chemical peels and understands the complete range of options that patients have in facial plastics. She has worked closely with Dr. Coleman now for years as his aesthetician, his clinical nurse, his surgical scrub, and his recovery room nurse. It is these diverse roles that have given her insight into complete execution of facial plastic plans and helping patients achieve their goals.
